Aigina

The most beautiful nymph of Saronic Gulf and the first capital of Greece with the oldest history. You will admire the temple of Aphaia, one deity who was worshiped only on the island of Aegina and the church of Agios Nektarios. The myth has it that the island took its name from the most beautiful of the twenty daughters of Asopos, the river god, who eloped with Zeus to the then deserted island. In historical terms, there is evidence that the island was inhabited from as early as 3500 B.C. Arguably one of the main attractions of Aegina is that it is a real living and working island. Thankfully not a victim of mass tourism. Snack on fresh cheese and spinach pastries from the bakery and fruit from the caiques. A true delight is ouzo with mezedes or a cold beer.

Agistri

The diamond of the Argosaronic Gulf full of pine trees and crystal clean waters. According to Homer, Agistri was called Kekrifalia, which means “adorned head” and appears as an ally of Aegina during the Trojan War.  To tour around the island there are shops where you can rent bicycles and motorbikes.
